A Brief History…
The 5th Cork, The Lough Scouts Re-opened in 2003. With Macaiomh(Cubs), Scouts and Venture Scouts meeting weekly. In 2003 we started with our Venture Scouts section and worked backwards creating the Scouts and Macaiomh Sections, and maybe a Beaver section in the future.
Now we have a nicely sized Scout section, but we’re always welcoming more to join. And the same can be said for the Macaiomh.

As everyone is aware Scouting is a Voluntary organisation and all its adults are volunteering their time and skills. The number of hours a leader would put into scouting is unreal and this is across the country not just the 5th Cork. This would also include as well as the program, hall maintainace, fundrasing and much more duties………
Each year the leaders give up their own personal hoildays to take the Scouts away on Summer camp/Venture expedition. Also throughout the year there would be day and weekend events. So on behalf of all the youth members we say to the leaders a big.
THANK YOU
Our Hall…
We have a large hall with: A Fully equiped Kitchen, Two Toilets, Office/stores, Large Green Outside and a small games room. Our hall is located next to The Lough Church and a 10 minute walk from the city center. There is a bus stop just outside the hall that the number 14 stops at. Getting to the hall from the train station, airport, bus station or a ferry is very easy.
What We’re Up To…
