HELPING HANDS CHARITY
This is an extraordinary team of people who have done some amazing fundraising for so many worthy charities not just for Cork. The group have been together now for nearly 6 years and have managed to raise over €90,000. The dedication each and every single person puts in, is brilliant and everyone is proud to be a part of the fun and exciting team. The scouts play a huge part in working with this team. Not only is the scout hall used as a base and event centre for the fundraisers the Macaoimh, Scouts and Ventures help our on event day/weekend. This is as sellers, stewarding or even making Easter Eggs to Christmas decoration.
The various events that have been run include or huge world famous cake sales/bric o brac, Sponsored walks, Bowling nights, raffles, Easter egg hunts and much more………….
We do not just pick one charity, we try and get to as many as we can. We have succesfully raised money for the following charities.
- Crumlins Children’s Hospital
- Chernobyl Children’s Project
- Simon Communtity
- St.Vincent De Paul
- Friends of Tanzania
- Rape Crisis Centre
- CUH Breast Cancer Fund
- …and more and more in the future.
